4000 kg sword to be installed on 108 feet high statue of Kempe Gowda at Bengaluru airport, watch video

A 4,000 kg sword is being installed in the 108 feet tall statue of Kempe Gowda in the premises of Bengaluru International Airport. The sword of 4000 kg has reached Bengaluru from Delhi. The statue is being installed in the 23-acre heritage park, named after the founder of Bengaluru, Kempe Gowda, on the airport premises.

Karnataka Higher Education Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan expressed happiness over the arrival of the sword and participated in the puja program. He himself was present at the airport when Talwar arrived. He said that Kempe Gowda’s sword is a symbol of valor and a new India.

The statue is being constructed at a cost of Rs 85 crore. The statue is being built under the supervision of renowned sculptor and Padma Bhushan awardee Ram Vanji Sutar. The work on the statue is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
