Delhi Police has arrested four accused in connection with the alleged abduction, gang-rape and assault of a woman in Vivek Vihar area of the national capital on Republic Day 2022. Police said that initially the reason behind the incident is believed to be personal enmity.
The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has taken cognizance of the matter. DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal shared a video of the incident, writing, “A 20 year old girl gangraped by illegal liquor sellers in Kasturba Nagar, making her go bald, wearing a garland of slippers and turning her face black all over the area. I am Delhi. I am issuing notice to the police. All the criminals men and women should be arrested and the girl and her family should be given security.”

The incident was reported to the police by the younger sister of the woman. At present the counseling of the woman is being done. Delhi Police said, “The unfortunate incident of sexual assault on a woman due to personal enmity took place in Shahdara district. Police have arrested four accused and investigation is on. All possible help and counseling is being provided to the victim.” “
Police said that on the complaint of the woman, an FIR for gang rape has also been registered. He says that the matter is being investigated.
