A recent survey conducted by NoBroker revealed that 69% of women give more importance to investing in property than in gold, SIP/stocks and luxury fashion. 27% of female home-buying respondents declared investment as their primary motivator. 81% of women wanted to shop for end use.

NoBroker’s Annual Real Estate Report (released in December 2021) also highlights that real estate is currently an end user market. Given this fact, the number of women considering buying property for investment is an indicator for the times to come. The platform has seen a steady increase in the number of women buyers registering over the years.

Most of the women looking to make purchases for investment purposes were from Delhi-NCR and Bangalore. Whereas, women shopping for end use were mostly from Mumbai and Chennai. The survey was conducted in Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune. More than 9000 women took part in this survey.

Invest more in residential property
94% of the women surveyed said that they were looking to invest in residential properties while 6% of the women gave their preference for commercial properties. 73% of the women surveyed were looking to buy a property within Rs 40-75 lakh while 20% were looking to buy a property between Rs 75 lakh and Rs 1 crore. At the same time, 7% of women were looking for assets worth more than 1 crore. The survey revealed that 1 and 2 BHK were the most popular options among these buyers.

63% of women surveyed prefer ready-to-move properties while 37% prefer under-construction properties. Bangalore had the highest percentage (56%) of those looking for ready-to-move-in properties.
