A video of BJP MP from Madhya Pradesh (MP) Janardan Mishra is going viral on social media. Mishra can be seen cleaning the toilet with his own hands in a girls’ school in the state.
While visiting the school, the Rewa MP saw a dirty toilet in the girl’s school, then started cleaning it himself with his bare hands.
Mishra later said that it is our duty to maintain cleanliness. This is a message given by Mahatma Gandhi and Prime Minister Modi. He said that this is not the first time that he has taken part in such cleanliness drive.
Prime Minister Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Mission on 2 October 2014. Under the mission, all villages, panchayats, districts, states and union territories of India declared themselves “open defecation free” by the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2, 2019. According to government data, more than 10 crore toilets have been built in rural India under this project.
